The following are excerpts from a prayer letter sent out by Zion Church on October 16, 2025
Pray for Zion Church, a house church in Beijing, which experienced a major crackdown this week that affected people in cities all across China.
Over the past week, numerous pastors and church staff from Zion Church across the country have been arrested or had their personal freedom taken away. Their homes have been searched, and many church venues have been closed down. This has plunged the church and families of the victims into unprecedented hardship. But amidst the turmoil of adversity, we firmly believe: "The Lord sits enthroned as King forever; He sits enthroned as King over all the nations" (Psalm 29:10)… This is not just a cry for one church, but a cry for the revival of the Chinese church!
A total of 22 individuals have been confirmed detained…May are core pastors of the church, as well as evangelists and church workers. The specific list is as follows:
Pastor Jin Mingri (male)
Pastor Wang Cong (female)
Pastor Sun Cong (male)
Pastor Gao Yingjia (male)
Pastor Wang Lin (male)
Pastor Yin Huibin (male)
Pastor Liu Zhenbin (male)
Pastor Lin Shucheng (male)
Pastor Sun Xue (male)
Pastor Misha (female)
Brother Liu Jiang (male)
Sister Wu Qiuyu (female)
Sister Li Shengjuan (female)
Sister Zhu Mingli (female)
Sister Cui Xiaole (female)
Sister Zhan Ge (female)
Sister Yang Lijun (female)
Sister Tuya (female)
Sister An Mei (female)
Sister Huang Chunzi (female)
Sister M (female)
To date, several brothers and sisters have been released or released on bail; however, the vast majority of pastors, preachers, and co-workers remain in detention. Furthermore, some pastors' homes have been sealed, their property has been seized or impounded, and their bank accounts have been frozen. Lawyers have been blocked from intervening, and the situation continues to unfold. The families of the detained, their lawyers, and fellow believers have been experiencing intense mental stress, physical exhaustion, and immense psychological pressure for days. They have persisted in advocating for help, supporting one another, and constantly praying and watching over us in their faith. In this dark hour, we see the tears of fellow believers, but we also see the strength and peace that comes from the Lord. We implore you, brothers and sisters, to join us in prayer and watch over us!
We hereby appeal to all churches and fellow Christians: Please remember these families in prayer and share their financial support, ensuring that the families of detained pastors and fellow workers receive the necessary support and avoid want during this difficult time.
Dear brothers and sisters, we are now facing a real spiritual battle. It's not just one church or one group of people who are being oppressed, but the entire Chinese church. At this critical moment in history, we must pray to the Lord, the Sovereign of all the earth! We call not only for peace, but also for revival; not only for deliverance, but also for the coming of the Kingdom of God! Let us lift up our holy hands and call day and night upon the Lord who, even amidst the flood, still reigns supreme, that His will may be done in this land we love, just as it is in heaven. Lord, "What is man, that you are mindful of him? The son of man, that you care for him?" — Psalm 8:4 May the Lord remember our prayers and tears and accomplish His glorious work in the midst of suffering. May we watch with you in Christ!
